At the strike of Midnight December 12th, The Hatbox at The Refinery Hotel and Packer Shoes will host one of the most anticipated sneaker releases this year.

As part of its upcoming Fall/Winter 2015 collection, Japanese streetwear brand BAPE has teamed up with PUMA on a special collection consisting of four sneakers featuring three of PUMA’s most popular silhouettes: the Disc Blaze, the R698, and the Blaze of Glory.

Fans in and around NYC will be among the first in the country to be able to score a pair along with their fully released apparel collection. The pop-up shop, designed in BAPE’s iconic camouflage, will deliver what diehard BAPE fans love and gravitate towards.

We took a moment to speak to our partners and ask: Why do a pop-up when you can easily sell online?

“Pop-ups are a complimentary retail strategy that every business needs. We could sell everything online but with pop-up shops we deliver an experience, and that’s what its all about” -Mike Packer, Packer Shoes

Although the collection debuted exclusively at BAPE locations on Saturday November 28th, midnight will mark its official global release at select PUMA retailers – The Refinery Hotel location being the exclusive BAPE x PUMA pop-up shop in NYC.

“We are excited to be back at The Refinery Hotel’s Hatbox space for our two-day pop up powered by Packer Shoes celebrating the PUMA x BAPE collaboration launch. The unique and centrally located space is the perfect venue to bring this hugely anticipated collection to life!  Working with the team at Lionesque to make this happen was super smooth, it’s always nice to work with partners who understand our needs!” -Seamus Deegan, Sr. Director of Marketing, Lifestyle, PUMA North America
